Start with what’s on your mind

  • When you’re doing GTD, you don’t have to treat what’s in your system (your task manager) as the absolute truth—especially if you don’t trust in that system.
  • Stop ignoring what’s in your head. That’s the real system.
  • You can always start with what’s on your mind and work from there in any moment.
  • Pull out TaskPaper and start making lists. Then make a short list. Then put it on your calendar. Then attack.
  • There is no “finished”. There is no “organized”. It’s an infinite game, and you have to play it every moment of your life. Get to the point where you can look back and say “Wow! I accomplished a lot!” You don’t have to realize that you’re doing it in the moment. You just have to keep taking action.
